THE FACTS ABOUT “FACT-BASED” SEX EDUCATION

By Audrey Werner R.N.

As a former public health nurse for the past 13 years who taught fact-based sex education in the schools and worked in a sexually transmitted disease unit in a health department, I have been very motivated to discover the origins and “facts” of fact-based sex education.  These facts follow:

Fact:  Fact-based sex education was illegal in most states and considered to be “Molesting a minor with immoral intent” if even the words sexual intercourse were mentioned in a classroom to anyone under the age of 21 years.

Fact:  Laws were changed based on the “scientifically verified” information of one man:  Dr. Alfred Kinsey.  He supposedly proved that children were sexual beings from birth and capable of orgasms.  He advocated early exposure to sexual information for children.

Fact:  It has since been proven that Dr. Kinsey hired pedophiles to sexually molest infants and children, and classified a child crying and trying to get away from the perpetrator as an orgasm.

Fact:  Dr. Kinsey’s myths from his fraudulent reports have been disproven by honest research and real human experience over the past 50 years.

Fact:  Fact-based sex education was officially presented to parents and educators of this nation in 1964 through an organization called SIECUS (Sex Information Education Council of the United States).

Fact:  SIECUS was established at the Kinsey Institute by past Planned Parenthood President, Dr. Mary Calderone and Lester Kirkendal, formerly on the Board of Penthouse Forum.  The Board for SIECUS in 1964 contained mostly Dr. Kinsey’s associates and became the clearinghouse for the distribution of all sex education material in this country. Dr. Calderone stated in 1967, “We cannot learn, or teach, how to fit sex into human life and relationships without an understanding of sexuality as a central life force.”

Fact:  The U.S. Census Bureau reports a 200% increase in Gonorrhea to children ages 10 - 14, 150% increase in pregnancies to girls under 15, 215% increase in pregnancies to girls aged 15-19 years and a 213% increase in single parent households since the 1960’s.

Fact:  The FBI reports reflect a 1,028% increase in child sex abuse reports (between 1976 and 1982), and in-school rapes have increased 58% from 1994 to 1999 among children 12 years and older.

Fact:  Safe sex is a myth.  The Center for Disease Control now reports that condoms do not prevent many STD’s, including venereal warts which causes cervical cancer and is a leading cause of cancer deaths for women in this nation.

Fact:  As reported by the Associated Press, a program developed by the University of Washington to help children earn good grades found when they provided no sex education to children, the teen pregnancy and birth rates dropped sharply.

As we teach children they are sexual, so they have become.  Dr. Judith Reisman is the first researcher to begin to uncover the fraudulent and erroneous data of Dr. Kinsey.  She is sought after by high courts and our government officials.  In a recent phone interview she stated, “Once you begin to talk to children about sex you eroticize them to themselves, to each other and to adults.”

If one goes back to how parents used to handle this topic, it was called the life process.  Parents role modeled how to treat one another in their marriages and talked indirectly through the “birds and the bees”.  When handling this topic modesty was used, self control stressed and chastity and purity was the goal.  Unfortunately, Dr. Kinsey got it down to the sex act, the genitals and “anything goes”.  How devastating the price our children have had to pay for such a flawed philosophy.
